It’s not only a big fun for children, even adults enjoy a ride with the alpine coaster in Kaprun. The alpine coasters run on tracks, these two-seaters race towards the valley below at speeds as high as 40 km/h.
The wildlife park is situated on the way to Großglockner Hochalpenstraße and is perfect for a family trip. In the nature park you can see 200 different animals which live in the austrian alps. Since we are in the mountains rain occurs every now and then, even in summer. Normally not for long periods in summer. Nevertheless, here are some good tips for rainy days in Zell am See and how to spend your holiday while it’s raining.
Tauern Spa is a really nice spa with indoor and outdoor thermal pools as well as a big sauna area. You can easily spend the whole day there with your family, without feeling bored. The mountain view from the pool is stunning. Imagine yourself in the pool and watch the beautiful mountain scenery. Quite impressive to be true. Don’t miss it on a rainy day!
Visit the historic town of Salzburg and enjoy a day full of history, culture and experience the typical austrian lifestyle. There is a famous fortress, the dome, excellent museums as well as famous “Getreidegasse”, the main shopping street in the historic city centre. Treat yourself with an typical austrian coffee house with applestrudel and coffee. Visit also Mozart’s birthplace or the famous Sacher hotel. Salzburg is about 1,5 hours drive from Zell am See. Did you know that the biggest ice cave which is open for public is only about an hours drive from Zell am See? It’s a fantastic experience, no matter what age. Be sure to take warm clothes with you since it’s really cold in the cave.
